I have been involved with horses for 20 years
now and been training and showing my own
Reined Cow Horses for about 5 years.  I grew up
riding mainly English Equitation and some
Jumpers and found myself interning with Ron
Ralls, a world-class trainer, for a summer while
attending Cal Poly State University.  It is there
that I fell in love with my first mare, Good
Karma Cash (Goose), who was a two-year-old at
that time.  I ended up buying her and spent
months trying to learn all the maneuvers on
her, which wasn't easy since she was only a
youngster.  Goose and I had a limited show life
due to some injuries but I ended up buying her
full sister (Dun It For Cash) the next year, who
was a yearling at the time.  Dun It For Cash
became Ruby, then Rubina, then Bena, and
finally just "Been" and became a "one of a kind"
performance horse.  I started Been myself and
trained her up until three months prior to
Snaffle Bit Futurity 2002 when Sandy Collier
noticed that she had what it took to perform for
an Open Trainer.  Sandy agreed to also let me
show her in the Amateur Division so the deal
was set.  Since it was basically my first major
show, I screwed up a little in the herd work and
didn't place well, but Sandy made the finals on
Been out of 260 horses and ended up 17th
overall.  That goes to show how amazing she is
since Sandy only had three months to work
with her, when most trainers have their
futurity horses for 18 months or more.  So, that
started my love for Reined Cow Horses and I
am now up to 6 horses with one on the way for
in 2008.  Along with showing, I breed 1-2 mares
each year
